Fresenius Kabi UK and Calea UK have been shortlisted for a Patient Experience (PEN) National Award for their Facebook engagement project ‘Elevating the patient voice’. The project was shortlisted in the Bringing Patient Experience Closer to Home category and finalists were announced on 22nd December 2017.
The vision of the group is; provide a supportive environment for new and existing patients, and carers, where they can share their experiences and learn from each other. The group is led by Jayne Wignall who stimulates positive discussion and provides valuable content to the patients.
PEN is a ‘not for profit’ membership based network. An independent organisation that welcomes all involved in delivering the patient experience – with a commitment to continuously improve.
The aim of PEN is to provide a valuable, practical resource/service for all healthcare organisations wishing to improve the patient experience. A key emphasis of the network is learning from each other and sharing best practice.
The award winners will be announced on 1st March 2018.
Jayne Wignall, Social Media Lead at Fresenius Kabi and Calea said “I am very excited about being shortlisted for this award. The groups have been a great success. We have over 400 members and many of them interact with us and each other. We were pleasantly surprised by the level of engagement and are humbled by the positive feedback. It has helped us to build relationships with our patients. The initiative has also involved many internal departments who have helped to provide useful, supportive information and engaging posts.”
One member of the group said “I have benefited in a number of areas using this group both through Calea and members and I hope that they too have benefited from my input. Long may it continue and grow.”
