Getting started with Home Parenteral Support (HPS)

Home Parenteral Support (HPS) refers to treatment with parenteral nutrition or parenteral fluids in the home.

Parenteral Nutrition (PN) means getting nutrition through a vein. PN is generally only used when someone can't get the nutrients they need via their gut.

Our specialist nursing team are very experienced and are used to supporting patients with the transition from hospital to home. They are on hand to make sure you are comfortable with self-managing your HPS and there’s also a 24-hour helpline, so you've got access to our nurses whenever you need them. You may receive additional nursing support if your hospital team think it's necessary.
Pharmacy Services
We have a large team of pharmacists, technicians and dispensers who are experts in parenteral nutrition and intravenous fluids. Not only do the team do all the dispensing and checking of your prescriptions, but they work closely with hospital teams to make sure your regimen is best suited to you. Parenteral nutrition regimens can be complex, so the team are there to ensure all the ingredients are correct and compatible - our pharmacists check your medicine's chemistry to make sure it's right for your body's chemistry.
Delivery Drivers
Calea partner with a delivery company who provide a reliable and courteous homecare service through a team of trained professional drivers. You'll be allocated to a team of regular drivers, so the faces will become familiar. Our drivers don't just drop off your supplies, they can also help with unpacking and storing your delivery to make it easier for you. They really will go the extra mile.
